Not-So-Innocents
You know that show, Sex And The City, about four women in one city. Each reveals a different side of the dating scene in New York, each is unique with their extreme characters. One fine evening, while we are irc-ing, we came up with our own local version.
First we have our darling Katherine**. She is this typical young college kid. You know, the ambitious 19-year-old who doesn't have a clue it's a jungle out there in the corporate world. One thing about Katherine is that she loves old men. And when I say old, I really meant old. For a 19-year-old, her youngest boyfriend is 36 years old. At 27, the oldest I've ever had is 35. Go figure.
Then we have our sexy Jolene**. She is the high flyer. Great job making great money. Have her own place, driving a sports car. Jolene is in a steady relationship with her boyfriend. However, she is forever telling you as long as she is not married, she is still open for bids. But she always announce she is attached.
Next we have the powerful Mellissa**. Corporate woman. Married with 2 kids. When it comes to work, she is power. When she goes home to her husband, she is a mouse. One thing about Melissa is that she always complain that she is not having sex. The only one with the husband, steady man in her life, you would thought she would be the safe one who can have constant sex. Oh the ironing.
Me. Yuppie wannabe. Just graduated, just entered into the jungle. Struggling to fit into the corporate world. I remembered that evening, in irc...

Jolene: She always date losers
Me: ...
Mellissa & Katherine: Muahahaha...
Sad. But how true it is.
2 years later:
Katherine is still in college. At 21, she is now dating a 26-year-old guy. So proud of her!! Jolene has broken up with her boyfriend since. And in between, broken up with another one as well. She now is officially open for bids. As for myself, still struggling to fit into the corporate world and happily attached. And of course, our dearest Mellissa. Still married. Still not having sex =)
